Over the weekend, David Syner (a gardener and baker) shared his recipe for making one of the most beautiful and delicious apple pies we’ve ever seen!

How to my Famous Apple Pie
Make the Pate Brisee (Pie dough)
2 ½ cups all-purpose Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter * key Chilled)
Cut into small pieces
½ cup iced water
Mix dry ingredients food processor
Add butter
Slowly add ice water till the dough holds together
Divide into two equal ball
Fridge at least 1 hour
Preheat oven to 375F
Next, take 12 granny smith apples
Peeled
Cored
Sliced
3/4 cup sugar
Zest and juice of 1 lemon (or 1 TBSP of lemon juice)
1 ½ tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
Pinch ground cloves
2 TBSP unsalted butter
1 large egg
Flour the surface and roll out the dough
2 - 1/8 inch thick circles
Mix apples, sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, spices & flour
Spoon into pie
Dot with butter
Cover with remaining dough circle
Crimp
Brush with beaten egg
Made vent holes
Sprinkle w/ sugar
Bake 1 hour
