Holiday Bakes with Daphne’s Super Cinnamon Rolls

We are officially in the thick of the holiday season, and the festivities are far from over. One of the best ways for all to come in from the cold and share in this time of giving and community is by baking delicious treats for your friends and family.

We’ve been on the hunt for some of the tastiest treats whipped up around our community of creators.

Earlier this month, we reached out to Daphne, a backyard gardener specializing in small space gardens with a focus on old ways of canning, dehydrating, and scratch cooking. She creates so much right from her very own garden! Check her out on Instagram @fromtheeggplant to see more of what she does.

And for our featured video, we chose Daphne’s Super Cinnamon Rolls that she made in the video below from scratch! Also, she gives us her super secret recipe with ingredients and directions. Enjoy!

Super simple Cinnamon Rolls!

Total bake time: 1hr 30min

Ingredients:

1 1/3 cup warm water

2 tsp active dry yeast

2 tsp honey

1 egg, 1 tsp salt

3 - 3 1/2 C flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp cinnamon

Directions:

Combine water yeast, and sugar. Stir till dissolved.

Then add the egg and salt and mix well.

Add the flour one cup at a time. Once the mixture is too stiff to mix with a fork, transfer it to a floured countertop.

Knead dough 4 to 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Shape into a smooth ball, placed in a bowl, cover with a dishcloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.

After the first rise, roll the dough into a 20 x13 inch rectangle on a floured surface.

Spread 4 tbsp of softened butter on the top but leave a 1/2 in.

Margin around the edges.

Mix together half a cup of brown sugar and 2 tbsp cinnamon and spread over the buttered surface.

Grease a 9x13 or muffin tin and place sliced rolls in.

Let rise for another 30 min till puffed.

Bake for 30 min at 350 degrees.

Then let cool and enjoy!
